Our 2020 Vision

In 2015, Teach For America – Metro Atlanta celebrates 15 years of service in the Atlanta community. As we consider the next phase of service in this region, we recognize that while we have made important contributions to education, there is more that we can do. Our teachers have been amazing, our students’ academics and lives have been touched, our school partners have been able to address critical teacher needs, but the same systemic issues that create these conditions persist. We are ready to amplify our impact as a true agent of change in Metro Atlanta.

Over the next five years, we are going to concert our teacher and leader talent, intellectual capital, convening power and broad network of alumni and supporters in pre-K through twelfth-grade school clusters in four to six specific neighborhoods to accelerate school performance and student achievement. By 2020, we want to help stabilize neighborhood indicators and advance excellent school instruction and leadership in our partner schools and communities, resulting in greatly improved school effectiveness and positive student academic outcomes.
