Our Leadership Council

The Leadership Council is an active cohort of professionals dedicated to supporting Teach For America - Metro Atlanta's efforts to eliminate educational inequity in our region. The Leadership Council seeks to support the mission of Teach For America through fundraising, network building, and thought leadership, and is made up of 22 Metro Atlanta leaders diverse in their experiences, identities, and perspectives.

Leadership Council members formally agree to take their passion for education equity to the next level through the following activities:

  • Investing their time and ideas through bi-monthly meetings, engagement opportunities, and annual events.
  • Committing to personally giving and fundraising $1,500 or more to increase the number of high-quality seats in schools across Metro Atlanta.
  • Serving as an external voice and advocate of Teach For America in personal and business networks and in the broader Metro Atlanta community.
  • Educating themselves and advocating to their peers about how we can improve the education outcomes for low-income communities in Metro Atlanta.
  • Participating in various engagement opportunities with Teach For America corps members, alumni, and partner schools and organizations.

By joining Teach For America - Metro Atlanta's Leadership Council, members have:

  • Access to a diverse and growing network of Teach For America - Metro Atlanta's 1,500 rising leaders and professionals, including our regional Advisory Board.
  • Access to thought leaders and resources on the educational landscape in Metro Atlanta and the opportunity to actively participate in the conversation of educational equity in our city.
  • The opportunity to work with a large and successful non-profit and contribute to local impact.
  • Professional learning experiences and opportunity to hold leadership positions within the council.
  • Invitations to special Teach For America - Metro Atlanta events throughout the year.
